Crysis 2 is a good game (although that story is nonsense), with somewhat weak AI.įor me one big problem Crysis 2 created though, is that the smaller environments sort of pushed you to stealth as you went up the difficulty levels. Even the DX9 version was a looker (again, when not compared to all the things Crysis had that 2 didn't) and running as well as it did, was a very different prospect to playing the first. It was worth still worth playing on low settings because the gameplay itself was that good.Ĭrysis 2 would have looked like a step forwards compared to many of Crysis's peers. Then I watched a friend play a good deal of the release version on PS3, where my overriding thought was "this runs so badly holy cow." Thanks DF for confirming that I wasn't wrong about that. I actually played the multiplayer beta quite a bit, much more than I played any other multiplayer. So Crysis 2 on consoles, for me, was a really impressive treat at first. I didn't get to experience much of Crysis 1 on PC at the time, just the demo which ran pretty poorly for me and looked like Far Cry 1 in graphical quality.
